MQ in Other Media

For various reasons, this blog and I have ended up being showcased in other media outlets. Some of the reasons for this make perfect sense. Others occasionally have me a little puzzled. But it's reached a point where I feel like I need to keep all of the links to those various pieces of media in one place, if only for simplicity in bragging rights. So here's a list in reverse chronological order, with the newest ones at the top, so I can add to it easily if and when there are more. Undated things will be at the very bottom.

These are all things that were either written about my blog or else used my blog as a reference for their own work. Some of these I expected. Most of them were surprises unveiled through Google vanity searches. You can probably guess which is which based on their descriptions. As far as I know, I'm only including things which were written by actual human beings - no AI.

Not included are links to the Hometown Historian's videos. He references me in his work roughly as often as I reference him, so I'll just send you to his YouTube profile.

(Stuff related to Laury's Island and other books will remain on their own separate pages.)

This is the first newspaper piece anyone ever did about my work with MQ.

I helped Kaylee research and explain the significance of Thomas Mifflin and just why so many places in Pennsylvania are named after him.

Alton did a dive into the claims that George Washington slept in one place or another throughout the country, particularly several locations in PA.

This is an excellent video, and I was delighted to learn that my post about Thaddeus Stevens in Gettysburg provided them with some of their information.

This was the first time someone profiled me and the blog! Paula has also used me as a reference for some of her historical posts.

Anne is a fellow Pennsylvania history enthusiast, and we actually have a mutual friend in Rachel, who used to be a tour guide in historic Bethlehem. She references my post about the Moravian Cemetery.

This is a very interesting article concerning Lithuanian heritage, including the thousands who immigrated to the United States. They used my post about Little Lithuania USA as a source.

  • Stanton, Scott. "Jimmy Dorsey." The Original Tombstone Tourist, Fall 2020.

The Tombstone Tourist profiles the graves of various celebrities all over the world, and included my post about The Dorsey Brothers in his list of recommended reading.

I was/am very honored to have one of the actual Moravian Archives archivists recommend my post about the Moravian Cemetery.

This was the very first mention of my blog I ever found on someone else's website! MQ was only a year and a half old at the time.

These good people used me as a resource for the section of this page concerning Continental dollars. Specifically, they referenced my post about Hall & Sellers Press in York.

In addition to all of these, I'm deeply flattered to know that MQ is ranked #30 on a list of the Top 70 American History Blogs, and to periodically be recommended by my friends at the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, with this being the first time it happened.
