MarkerQuest: The Podcast

Well, as I'm fond of saying, I hope I know what I'm doing.

As of February 2024, I've started turning my blog posts into podcast episodes. So if you would prefer to listen to me blather about Pennsylvania history rather than read it, you now have the option. Enjoy my untrained voice regaling you with marker trivia while you're driving, walking, taking a bath, exercising, or whatever else you do while listening to podcasts.

The blog is still the blog, don't worry. I'll continue writing new posts regularly. But as time permits, I'll also be expanding into podcast territory. The podcast versions of blog posts include even more information about the stories behind the historical markers, and who knows? There might be special features down the road as I grow more comfortable with this new and scary way of doing things. With the exception of the very first episode (which is an introduction to the blog for those who aren't already readers), each episode lasts between 10 and 20 minutes on average.

    • Season One: posts from 2018 (in progress)
    • Season Two: posts from 2019 (TBA)
    • Season Three: posts from 2020 (TBA)
    • Season Four: posts from 2021 (TBA)
    • Season Five: posts from 2022 (TBA)
    • Season Six: posts from 2023 (TBA)
    • Season Seven: posts from 2024 (TBA)

My husband has dubbed this "the PodQuest." He is my emotional support silly man.

Pick your preferred source, download, and enjoy! I'm found on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Audio.com. You can also find me on iHeartRadio or by telling your Amazon Echo to "play MarkerQuest podcast."

Be sure to subscribe, leave comments, and tell anyone you know who might be interested. As always, I'm grateful for the support of my readers - and now, listeners!

The Orange Boys

From time to time, the episodes may feature unplanned "cameos" by any (or possibly all) of our trio of "nice orange boys," the cats. Other unintended noises I will do my best to edit out of the podcast, but I love these fuzzballs too much not to let them stay!

Random is my cat, he's the eldest. Kashi and Sashi are actually brothers from the same litter; they are my 'nephews,' having been raised from kittenhood by my sister Liza. I know I have lots of animal lovers out there among my readers and listeners, so here they are!

Sashi is the slightly blurred one walking; Kashi is the round one on the right.
Random is being petted by my husband Kevin, the fourth 'orange boy' in my collection.

  1. Entertaining and educational. Did the children go back to be with their parents after nursery? Next time I am at a grocery store will be getting a bag of Sturgis pretzels.
